Nina Maya Emporium

Looking to broaden her creative scope Nina Maya approached me to design and oversee the launch of their online boutique Nina Maya Emporium.

Deliverables included identity design, complete design and deployment of the e-commerce website on the Shopify platform, blog design, weekly email campaign design and launch (MailChimp) and regular updates to the website, online marketing banners and graphics.



Overview

Nina Maya is one of Australia’s most celebrated designers renowned for creating collections with an emphasis on quality, silhouette and finishing. Looking to broaden her creative scope Nina Maya approached me to design and oversee the launch of their online boutique Nina Maya Emporium which would not only showcase her ready-to-wear collections but also a range of hand-picked luxury accessories, one-off vintage finds, beauty accompaniments, homewares and independent lifestyle brands.

Working with Inspira Digital on the Shopify integration, this project was an insight into not only the challenges of working with a commerce platform (and mastering Shopify's 'Liquid' markup language) but also choosing the most suitable platform to begin with - Shopify, Big Cartel, Magento and Big Commerce were all evaluated. The ability to easily customise the look and feel of the Shopify front-end, the simplicity and modern design of the back-end and all the of benefits that come with a 'hosted' e-commerce solution made Shopify a clear winner in this case.
